US Orchestra 26-27

The 2026–27 season features major artistic transitions and clearly differentiated programming across leading U.S. orchestras.

At the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Klaus Mäkelä appears in multiple programs, further establishing his artistic presence. In particular, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 4 stands out as a significant program that highlights both Mäkelä’s interpretive approach and the orchestra’s technical strength.

In the final phase of Andris Nelsons’ tenure with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra features major repertoire choices, including The Queen of Spades, underscoring the end of an important artistic era in Boston.

The Philadelphia Orchestra, under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, continues to emphasize Mahler, with multiple performances reinforcing his focus on large-scale symphonic repertoire.

The New York Philharmonic presents a highly diverse season, featuring a wide range of conductors and programs that emphasize variety, contemporary perspectives, and stylistic breadth.

The Cleveland Orchestra concludes a long artistic period under Franz Welser-Möst, with major works such as Strauss’s Alpine Symphony and Haydn’s The Creation serving as key elements in the culmination of his tenure.

In addition, pianist Alexandre Kantorow appears with multiple major orchestras, including Cleveland, New York, and Boston, highlighting his growing presence in North America's orchestral landscape.
